Meet Matilda – Miss M. She’s imaginative, beautiful, and oh so knowledgeable about flowers. She is also on the Autism spectrum and has an intellectual disability.
She’s perfect in every way.
After half a lifetime in the corporate world, the arrival of Matilda – Miss M – changed the path of my destiny. Of course, all children do, in their own way, and Matilda was to teach me much more about life than I could have possibly imagined.
My first business, Bespoke Botanics, was established in 2015. Matilda was 6 and she was enchanted by the blossoms and blooms, leaves and stems, tiny sprays and lush petals and everything about these little posies sent to people around Melbourne to make their day happier. She became involved in the daily flower dealings of my business (although her favourite activity at that time was to snap off heads!) and started to recognise each flower. When she expressed a desire to come to the wholesaler to select fresh blooms I knew I had a mini flower enthusiast.
Watching her interest and knowledge blossom gave me, as her Mother, an unmissable opportunity to learn together using nature as our classroom. When the fresh flowers Matilda adored having in her room would wilt, I started to come up with a more permanent plan.
Love Miss M was born from a mutual love of all things beautiful.
The inherent purity of nature, the smile in your heart when you look at a flower, the look on a little girl’s face when you capture the essence of something she loves.
Our range of floral art prints offers high quality yet accessible artwork for Princesses (and Princes who love blossoms too). Instead of fantasy artwork, Love Miss M art prints showcase the virtue of taking a second look at what’s around you, perfection in imperfection, and delight in natural beauty.
Most of the images are photographed by myself (the flower expert, who also studied photography back in my university days) and the business end of Love Miss M includes Matilda heavily – she is involved in orders, packing, and, of course, quality control!
Love Miss M floral art prints are both for and about Matilda.
